VIX For The Big Boys

Hat tip to @StevenPlace for reminding me of JCJ. A volatility index at the CBOE somewhat similar to VIX however, JCJ tracks volatility of the a baset of stocks represented by the top 50 SPX stocks by market capitalization. For more information see the CBOE website at http://www.cboe.com/micro/impliedcorrelation/default.aspx Now I could be dead wrong, but this chart tells me that there's a LOT of hedging going on that the typically-monitored VIX doesn't reflect. Take a further look and tell me what you think. I look forward to anyone's comments.
